Spicy Gorgonzola Spread with Peppers
This gorgonzola cheese spread on crusty bread will be a hit at your next picnic or party.

1 pound gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
1-2/3 cups red peppers, chopped
2 scallions, minced
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
French bread

Place all ingredients except bread in food processor. Purée. Hold in refrigerator to stiffen before packing for picnic.

At picnic, serve spread on slices of crusty bread. **

If desired, top each slice with one or more of these optional toppings: scallions, prosciutto, anchovies, roasted red peppers* or cooked bacon.

*Roasted peppers from a jar may be substituted.

**Crusty bread, i.e. sourdough, may be substituted.
