Scallop Kabobs

2 dozen sea scallops, raw
1 package bacon, sliced thick
green pepper
4 long (10"-12") metal skewers, or 8 short (6"-8") skewers
1/4 pounds butter

Rinse scallops with cold water and drain. Cut bacon and selected optional ingredients into approximate 1 inch pieces. (If using tomatoes, cherry tomatoes are attractive and hold up better on the grill than sliced tomato portions.) String the scallops and vegetable sections onto skewers, alternating items equally. Melt butter in a saucepan on the grill. Brush filled skewers with the melted butter and place them on the grill about 3 inches from hot coals for 5 minutes. Turn, brush again with butter and cook another 5 minutes or until bacon is crisp and scallops are golden. Serve scallop kabobs on the skewer.
