4 small, thin-skinned potatoes
1 1/2 to 2 pounds beef sirloin, trimmed and cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1 large green pepper, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
1 large red pepper, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 drops hot pepper sauce

Heat the broiler or light the charcoal grill. Let the coals get medium hot.

Gently scrub the potatoes under running water but do not peel them. Cook them in 2 inches of boiling water in a covered saucepan for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and cut into quarters.

Thread the meat and vegetables onto four metal skewers, alternating pieces of meat, pepper and potato. Combine the melted butter or margarine and oil with the garlic and hot pepper sauce.

Broil or grill the kebabs for 10 to 15 minutes suspended over a broiler pan or set over the medium-hot coals, turning and brushing with the butter mixture as they cook.
