1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon Crisco® Vegetable Oil
1 tablespoon horseradish, prepared
1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon pepper, coarse ground
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 pounds bonleless flank steak, about 3/4 inch thick

Combine the onion, brown sugar, and oil in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes, or until the onion is tender.
Add the remaining ingredients, except the steak, and continue cooking over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool completely.
Put the steak in a glass, ceramic, or plastic container. Pour the cooled marinade over it and turn several times to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours and up to 24 hours.
Prepare a charcoal or gas grill or preheat the broiler.
Lift the steak from the marinade, letting most of the marinade drip off the meat. Discard the marinade.
Grill the steak for 4 to 5 minutes over hot coals. Turn and grill for 3 to 4 minutes longer or until the steak reaches the desired degree of doneness.
Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before slicing on the diagonal and serving.
