Grilled Ginger-Sesame Chicken Wings

4 pounds chicken wings
1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
1 jalapeno pepper, stemmed, seeded and chopped
2 medium-size cloves garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
6 tablesspoons low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup sherry
1/4 cup sesame oil

1. Light the charcoal grill.

2. Remove the smallest section of each wing at the joint and discard.

3. In a non-aluminum container, combine the remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Add the chicken wings and turn to coat them in marinade. let the wings marinate, turning several times, while the grill heats, or for at least 40 minutes.

4. Remove the wings from the marinade and grill them, brushing often with the marinade, for about 20 minutes until the skin is crips and lacquered and the meat is tender.
