Holiday Fruit Cookies
These fruit cookies are just perfect for the Christmas holiday.

1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup candied cherries, coarsely chopped
1 cup pitted dates, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 cup milk, sour




Combine pecanse, cherries, dates and 1/4 ccup flour; mix lightly and set aside. Cream shortening and brown sugar; add egg and mix well. Sift together 1-1/2 cups flour, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour milk; blend well. Stir in fruit-nut mixture. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
