Pumpkin Spiced and Iced Cookies
Pumpkin Spiced and Iced Cookies offer the moistness of pumpkin pie with the chocolatey sweetness of chocolate chips. Try these for a Halloween party or a children's dessert at Thanksgiving.

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened (we recommend Land O Lakes Butter)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 can (15 oz.) LIBBY ® 100% Pure Pumpkin
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ ® TOLL HOUSE ® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional
1 cup Powdered sugar, (for vanilla glaze)
1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons milk, (for vanilla glaze)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla, (for vanilla glaze)




Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease a baking sheet; set aside.

Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium mixing bowl; set aside.

Cream together butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add pumpkin, eggs and vanilla. Gradually add flour mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in chocolate morsels and walnuts; blend well.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven; allow to cool for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Meanwhile combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl; beat until a smooth glaze forms. Spread or drizzle glaze over each cookie.
