1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
9 tablespoons butter
1 egg
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup blueberries, fresh, or well-drained and rinsed frozen berries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add 8 tablespoons of the butter and blend until mixture is crumbly. Set aside ½ cup. Add egg, milk, and vanilla to remaining crumb mixture and mix until smooth. Gently fold in blueberries. Spoon into greased or lined muffin tin, filling cups 2/3 full. Mix remaining tablespoon butter, melted, into remaining crumb mixture and sprinkle on top of muffins. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until light brown. Let muffins cool in tin before removing.
