Flavored Syrup
Simple syrups in your favorite flavors are easy to make and great for additional flavorings in many desserts.
Serves: 1 Cup
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 3 minutes


1 cup sugar or 1/4 cup water

In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and extract. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Let the syrup boil for a minute or so until the sugar dissolves.

Reduce the heat to low and and let the syrup simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool completely before using.

Pour the syrup into a glass jar, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
