It’s December already? Many of us may fall short when it comes to baking cookies, decorating the house and trimming the tree, but we shine when it comes to stocking stuffers!

Are your kids the ones who rush past the stack of beautifully wrapped presents under the tree and make a beeline for the stockings instead? Babies and toddlers are easy to please but as the kids get older, stuffing the stockings gets trickier.

Here are some ideas to make both big and little kiddos squeal with delight:

Small games: deck of cards, cribbage set, magnetic chess, Farkel (a dice game), and books such as Hoyle’s Encyclopedia of Card Game Rules, trivia books, and Mad Libs.

Playful and practical: fancy shoelaces, wallet, coin purse, fun fingernail polish, pocket flashlights, carabineers (or karabiners), bacon-flavored dental floss, a zombie sleep mask, lip balm, a back scratcher, and goofy soap on a rope.

Craft kits: rainbow loom bands, kirigami and origami sets, bracelet kits, polymer clay, colored pencils and markers.

Old School toys: jacks, marbles, Pick Up Sticks, a Slinky, Silly Putty, jumping beans, wind-up toys, and wall crawlers.

Silly pranks: Groucho glasses, fake mustaches, a joy buzzer, whoopee cushions, flingshot animals.

Nostalgic candy: wax lips, candy necklaces, pixie sticks, gumballs, candy canes.

For the new driver: Silly key rings, air fresheners, a flashlight, Filler-Up Coin bank, a dashboard zombie, and a gas gift card.

Study aids: caffeinated lollipops, beef jerky, a coffee mug, colorful highlighters, ear plugs, scalp massagers, stress ball, and a mini back massager.

Sports Aids: lip balm, hand warmers, stain remover wipes, a mini first aid kit, iTunes gift cards, a water bottle, BPA-free soup-to-go mugs, energy chews.
