Looking for a smashing menu for Father's Day? Look no further!

Menu:

Because the weather is usually warm and glorious by Father's Day, many families choose to grill in the backyard or on the deck. Thick, juicy pork chops are great on the grill and when accompanied by a garlicky sauce and lightly grilled peaches, they are nothing short of spectacular.

Serve the chops with the year's first ears of fresh corn. Our recipe explains how to roast the corn in the oven but why not grill it? Remove the silk and pull back the husks, rub the corn cobs generously with butter, sprinkle them with salt, pepper, and lime juice, replace the husks, and grill the corn for about 5 minutes. At this point, test an ear for doneness and continue grilling.

Strawberries are still in season and this dessert is a great way to take advantage of them. Think about doubling or tripling the amount of puree and keeping it in the refrigerator to spoon over pancakes, ice cream, yogurt, pound cake, or sliced fruit

Keep the pork chops in the refrigerator until 10 or 15 minutes before grilling. The short stint at room temperature before cooking is to take the chill off, which promotes even cooking. Partially cooking the chops ahead of time is not a good idea. Keep them at 40°F or lower until 15 or 20 minutes before it's time to grill. Grill the chops until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the meat registers 155°F. Let the chops rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Begin grilling quite soon after your guests arrive. Everyone will be happier if they don't have to wait for more than an hour to eat.
