1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 tablespoon bacon drippings
Salt and pepper

Clean each duck inside as well as out; dry. In Dutch oven melt butter, oil and bacon drippings. Salt and pepper each duck. Brown very well on all sides. Add 2 inches water; boil down over medium heat. When all water has boiled away, brown ducks a second time. Add 1 inch water; boil down again over medium heat. Brown ducks a third time. Add 2 inches water; cook slowly over low heat until just enough liquid remains for rich gravy. Cooking time will be 1-1/2 to 2 hours in all. Serve with Sausage Rice.
