5 pounds short ribs, cracked and cut in serving pieces
6 medium onions, quartered
1-1/4 cups water
1 can (20 ounce) pineapple chunks in juice
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 green peppers, seeded and cut in thin strips
3 tablespoons cornstarch
hot cooked rice, optional




In Farberware® Electric wok, add meat, onions and about 1 cup of the water. Set heat control dial at 250°F. Cook about 2 hours or until meat is tender. Turn Heat Control tooff and disconnect. Drain and discard liquid. In measuring cup, drain pineapple liquid and mix with brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder and ginger. Stir into meat mixture with green pepper. Set heat control dial at 250 degrees and heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Cover and cook 15 minutes. mix cornstarch and remaining 1/4 cup water until smooth. Stir into hot liquid with pineapple chunks. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, and boil 2 minutes. Serve with rice or Chinese noodles.
