Raspberry-Pecan Bars

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup (4 ounces) pecans, chopped
1 jar American Spoon Raspberry Preserves




Preheat oven to 325. Butter an 11 3/4 by 7 1/2 baking pan. In medium-sized bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the butter until creamy-about 1 minute. Gradually add the sugars and continue to beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla. With a spoon, stir in the dry ingredients. Reserve 3 Tbsp of the pecans and stir in the remainder. Press about half of the dough evenly in the bottom of the pan. Spread with the Preserves. Crumble the rest of the dough evenly over the top. Sprinkle with the reserved pecans. Bake in the center of the oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until golden brown and firm. Cool in the pan on a rack.
