Bulgur Chili

1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
4 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon oregano
2 teaspoons Crisco® Vegetable Oil
2/3 cup bulgur, uncooked
1 1/2 cups water
14 ounces black beans, rinsed and drained
14 ounces canned navy beans, rinsed and drained
28 ounces canned stewed tomatoes, crushed

In a large skillet (3-4 quarts), saute celery, onions, sugar and spices in oil for five minutes. Stir in bulgur and water. Simmer covered over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beans and tomatoes. Simmer covered over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve in warmed bowls.
