Homestyle Ground Lamb Gyros

1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/8 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
3 pita pockets
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 onions, chopped
1 cup lowfat yogurt, (for sauce)
1/2 medium cucumber, finely chopped (for sauce)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped (for sauce)
1/8 teaspoon salt, (for sauce)
1 tablespoon sugar, (for sauce)




Combine yogurt, cucumber, garlic, salt, and sugar in bowl; blend well. Chill at least 1 hour. Combine lamb, garlic, lemon juice, basil, ground marjoram, thyme, rosemary, salt, pepper and snipped parsley in large mixing bowl; blend well. Place mixture in skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until meat is no longer pink and cooked through. Drain off excess drippings. Cut pita pockets in half; spoon in meat mixture. Top with tomatoes and onions. Spoon sauce over each sandwich and serve immediately.
