Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork
Using a slow cooker is a trouble-free way to cook pulled pork. In the winter when you don’t have easy access to the grill, it’s foolproof. And it’s always easy. Serve the pork on soft buns with barbecue sauce. Baked beans and chips finish the meal!

1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
One 5 pound boneless pork shoulder (butt) roast
1 cup water
Soft sandwich buns




Combine all the seasonings in a small bowl and rub evenly over the pork roast. Put the meat in a 6-quart slow cooker and add the water. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 4 to 5 hours until the pork is very tender.


Transfer the pork to a large cutting board or platter and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes. Pull, slice or chop the pork to serve in buns with your favorite barbecue sauce or just as is.
