Monte Cristo Dijon
This lunch counter classic is so easy to make at home.  It features ham and Swiss, sandwiched between savory "French toast".  Oozing with melted cheese, it's really tasty!

4 teaspoons Dijon-style mustard
4 slices Pepperidge Farm® Whole Grain Rye Bread
4 slices cooked ham (about 3 ounces)
2 slices Swiss cheese (about 2 ounces)
4 bread-and-butter pickle sandwich slice
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter




Spread 1 teaspoon mustard on each bread slice. Top 2 bread slices evenly with ham, cheese, pickle sandwich slices and the remaining bread slices.
Beat the egg and milk in a shallow dish with a fork. Dip the sandwiches into egg mixture, turning over to coat both sides.
Heat the butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the sandwiches and cook for 10 minutes or until they're lightly browned on both sides and the cheese is melted.
