Sweet & Spicy Barbecued Brisket
Brown sugar makes it sweet, picante and Worcestershire sauces makes it spicy, and slow cooking makes it tender and delicious. Serve the brisket on sandwich buns or rolls to soak up all the flavorful sauce.

1 trimmed beef brisket (about 5 pounds)
ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 cups Pace® Picante Sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
Pepperidge Farm® Farmhouse™ Premium White Rolls with Sesame Seeds or 10 Pepperidge Farm® Sandwich Buns with Sesame Seeds

Season the beef with the black pepper and garlic powder and place into a 3-quart shallow baking dish.  Stir the picante sauce, brown sugar and Worcestershire in a small bowl.  Spread the picante sauce mixture over the beef.  Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight.
Bake, covered, at 300°F. for 4 1/2 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.  Slice or shred the beef.  Divide the beef and sauce among the rolls.
Alternate Preparation: To make this recipe in a slow cooker, cover and refrigerate the beef as directed above.  Place the beef and picante sauce mixture into a 7-quart slow cooker.  Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours or until the beef is fork-tender.  Slice or shred the beef.  Divide the beef and sauce among the rolls.
