Bananas Foster

4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup orange juice
2 bananas, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch slices
1/4 cup rum
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 pint vanilla ice cream

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until it has dissolved. Stir in the orange juice. The sugar may clump together; continue stirring until the clumps have dissolved.

Add the bananas, stirring to coat them with the sugar mixture. Cook until tender, about 2 minutes. Remove the skillet from the burner, add the rum, return to the burner and ignite. While the rum is flaming, sprinkle the cinnamon over the bananas and stir. Stir the mixture until the cinnamon is evenly dispersed.

Pour the banana mixture over the ice cream set in bowls.
