1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup light molasses
1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup raisins, chopped, softened

Position a rack in the upper third of the oven. Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Butter 12 muffin cups.
