Green Chile and Cheese Strata
This South of the Border strata is a welcome change from the milder versions you may be familiar with. Serve for breakfast or lunch and for a complete dinner just add your favorite salad and Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert.

6 thick white bread
6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
1 can ORTEGA® Diced Green Chiles
2 cup milk
4 eggs
2 tablespoon green onions, chopped
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded




PREHEAT oven to 325° F. Grease a 13x9-inch baking dish.

PLACE bread in bottom of prepared baking dish; top with Monterey Jack cheese. Sprinkle with chiles.

COMBINE milk, eggs, green onion, hot pepper sauce and salt in small bowl. Pour over bread and cheese; sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

BAKE for 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean and top is golden brown.
