Fruit Compote
A wonderful addition to a holiday menu!
Serves: 8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes


8 ounces dried prunes, pitted
8 ounces dried apricots, pitted
8 ounces mixed dried fruit
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup almonds, slivered
1 cinnamon stick
1 cup orange juice
2 cups cold water

Place everything except almonds in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for approximately 30 minutes or until fruit softens. Place almonds on greased cookie sheet and toast at 450 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes, until browned. After fruit is removed add almonds and serve while warm.
