Asparagus in Black Bean Sauce
Cook the asparagus for a minute longer if you prefer yours softer.

12 ounces (about 32 spears) asparagus spears, thin
1/2 cup chicken stock
2 tablespoons black bean garlic sauce
4 leaves romaine lettuce

Trim the asparagus. Trim, clean, and dice the mushrooms (about 1/4 cup).

Preheat a nonstick wok or a large nonstick skillet with a lid over high heat.

Add the asparagus and chicken stock to the hot wok or skillet. Cover and cook for about 1 minute, until the asparagus turn bright green. Add the mushrooms and the black bean garlic sauce. Cook for 1 minute more, tossing the asparagus in the sauce to coat.

Place a lettuce leaf on each of 4 salad plates. Divide the asparagus among the prepared plates and drizzle with the residual sauce from the pan.
