Turnip Casserole
Turnip Casserole is a holiday tradition at our house. Try this wonderful casserole and I guarantee this will become a tradition at your house.
Serves: 4 to 6
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes


2 cups mashed cooked turnips
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup soft bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon butter, melted
pepper, to taste (about 1/16th teaspoon)

Combine turnips, 3 tablespooons butter, sugar, salt, 3/4 cup bread crumbs and eggs. Mix well. Turn into buttered one quart casserole. Mix remaining bread crumbs with 1 tablespoon melted butter. Sprinkle over turnips.

Bake in a preheated oven 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown.
