My mother always made it every March 17th, she passed away and now its my turn to carry on the traditional dish! Leftovers went to the freezer!debra WE MAKE THIS MEAL 3-4 TIMES A YEAR. Always trying to find how my Grandma cooked everything but this beats it.
Christy No, it's not quick, but sure is easy to make. The beef comes
out so tender it practically melts in your mouth. A great recipe!Alice Wouldn't be St Patrick's Day without this one. Love itjean I have done this recipe before. It is very good and couldn't be easier.Linda It was so good! I really did forget how delicious it was as a kid!Penny Best to use very large stock pot for this recipe...I do not have one and used a dutch oven which was workable only by adding slower cooking vegetables first and adding the rest after the meat was removed from the stock. The end result of this large feast was so satisfying that the kids and I voted it into our comfort food file.MELINDA I got some good comments about this dish I made for some family who had never had corned beef befor. ThanksGrace I like a little more spices so I add picklings spice to the cooking water. When serving don't forget a good rye bread and butter. Little mustard when serving too. Chris My Family really enjoyed this. Susan
